Photographer Invoice Template Nigeria: Example and Guide

A photography invoice should make the agreed shoot, deliverables and payment stages easy to understand. This matters most when a client has paid a booking fee and expects final edited images later.

What to include

Use your business name, contact details, customer name, unique invoice number, invoice date, due date and payment instructions. Add the information that lets the customer connect the bill to the actual job: event date, venue, shoot duration and package name.

Your line items can include:

• Event or portrait photography coverage
• Editing and retouching
• Photo album, prints or digital delivery

Do not merge every cost into one vague “service charge”. Separate the main service from delivery, materials, third-party costs or approved extras. It helps the customer approve the invoice and helps you explain the total later.

Simple invoice example

Use your actual quotation and agreed price. The example shows how to structure the document, not what your service should cost. If a customer gives you an LPO, include its reference separately rather than using it as your invoice number. Our invoice number guide explains a simple numbering system.

Deposits, changes and final balances

Show the booking fee already paid as a separate negative line, then state the final balance and when it is due.

Details to check before sending

Confirm the shoot date, number of edited images, delivery timeframe and whether travel is included. Check the customer name, total, due date and bank details as well. If VAT is applicable to your transaction, show it separately and check the calculation with the Nigeria VAT calculator. Do not add VAT merely because another supplier does.

Should I show a deposit on the invoice?

Yes. Show the original total, the amount and date received, and the remaining balance. This avoids the customer paying the full figure twice.

Can I use the same template every month?

Use the same branded layout, but issue a new invoice number and update the period, scope and balance for every invoice.

What if the customer pays late?
